Billie says jump and Frazier asks how high?! The dynamic duo made their showjumping debut this weekend at the Virginia Horse Center and were in the ribbons with a clear round. You've come a long way baby!

Be still my beating heart, the search is over and at last my love has come along! Ginger Ale (Donnerhall x Genever x Lungau) gave me the ultimate 50th Birthday gift wrapped in a black velvet coat. Royalton is a sensational colt by the Hanoverian Celle stallion Rotspon (Rubinstein x Argentan x Pik Bube) and at 24 hours old is already making the mares swoon. Not for sale:) To visit his album, click on Royalton.

March roared out like a lion with the arrival of our new colt Eireheart this morning at 9:45. Perhaps the easiest foaling I've ever experienced, the "Elf" was up and ready for business by 10:30 (also just in time for the feed delivery:) Eireheart is by Escudo II out of my most special KWPN mare Wazzup (Heartbreaker x Landgraf). He's got showjumper stamped all over him and may be offered for sale after weaning. To visit his album, click on Eireheart.

Warhol was reunited with his loved ones in Austin last week. Pictured with his new rider Logan, they've got five years between them and what they may lack in experience is surely made up in chemistry. Congratulations to Lisa and Dale as well. Maybe they'll give you a little saddle time too!

Fashionably Late (Flash) arrived at the stroke before midnight on what could best be described as runway model legs. Up and doing laps around mom within the hour, she is already working on her flying lead changes in the paddock. Flash is the third generation of SBF's Empire of Women and is by the Elite Hanoverian stallion Fabuleux and the first foal out Devon (Davignport x Hill Hawk xx) who was the last offspring of my beloved late mare Hannah. You've got big shoes to fill, kid! To view her album, click on Fashionably Late.

| Delightful Delicious Dahli!

| |
Dahli's show career is off to a wonderful start as she received a premium award and was top filly at her GOV foal inspection this weekend. The judges comments were outstanding noting her lovely conformation, disposition and gaits. Personally, this was a very challenging show and want to extend a special thanks to all my friends and colleagues who lent a hand to get us there. It really took a village this time around. Needless to say, none of this would have been possible without Ginger Ale or Davidoff Hit!

I couldn't resist adding this photo of SBF's version of Little Red Riding Hood. At 5 days old, Dahli has yet to meet a stranger and can clearly charm the pants off anything or anybody!

| Hello Dahli!
3/22/2008
| |
Apparently we were on the Easter Bunny's basket distribution list after all! Dahli (Davidoff Hit / Donnerhall / Genever) greeted us early this morning just in time for the holiday festivities. She sure took her sweet time after baking for 356 days, but well worth the wait (much to Ginger Ale's relief). This long-legged beauty has the most engaging personality we've yet to see in a foal and bears a striking resemblance to Primadonna's 2006 filly Pik Nik. Perhaps a pas de deux partner? In any event, Dahli will be skipping the sales page and join the SBF mare club.

| Meet Monroe
3/21/2008
| |
He's not quite the Easter Bunny, but in our estimation...even cuter. Meet Monroe, the latest addition to Sunny Brook Farm, a three month old bone-a-fide St. Bassemation (Saint Bernard/Basset Hound/Dalmation cross). There are still three more just like him at the Rockbridge Couny SPCA (540.463.5123). Hurry while supplies last..you won't be disappointed!

Primadonna made her A-Rated hunter show debut this weekend at the Virginia Intermont Classic and pinned in every 2'6" and 2'9" jumping class. The judges loved her and she is ready to move up the levels. A special thanks goes to her rider/trainer Billie Rae Croll for such an outstanding effort.

Wazzup gave us a belated Mother's Day gift in the form of a fabulous new colt this morning. Corazon (Contester x Heartbreaker x Landgraf)literaly exploded into our lives at 11:11 a.m. and stole our hearts in the process. He is elegant and refined with legs that go on forever. We couldn't be more thrilled with this cross!

Miller burst on the scene at 6:10 am on May 6. He is out of our Gypsy mare Lisa by the Gypsy stallion the Blue Prince. Undoubtedly a future stallion prospect, Miller is quite the ladies man and was up and running the barn within an hour.

Congratulations to Lisa, Scott, Jessa and Lilly on their new spotted addition to the family. Buca will surely live the life of Riley in North Carolina where he will be enjoyed by the entire family and also continue to be shown in dressage by Lisa who is an accomplished Adult Amateur at the FEI level. We wish them all the best of luck!

Undoubtedly a match made in heaven, this pair was always meant to be. Rodon is on his way to Bogota, Colombia where he will continue to be raised and shown by Eva as a stallion prospect. We couldn't have hoped for a better home and wish them both nothing less than the best of luck!

5/26/2006
| |
Pik Nik made her debut into the world this morning at 1:00 am and started the holiday weekend off with a bang. Her delivery was blissfully uneventful and she was up nursing within a half hour. Pictured here at 10 hours old, Niki is all legs with two white hind socks and a crescent star. She is by Pointmaker (Pik Bube) out of Primadonna (Donnerluck).

At Dressage in the Sandhills, Ryka qualified for USDF Region 1 BLM Regional Championships. Placing in the ribbons three times with consistent scores in the mid to high 60s, this was her first show amongst a highly competitive field so needless to say we couldn't be more thrilled. You go girl!
